Concept, menu reap rewards for Naples Flatbread and Wine Bar

Ralph Desiano had penned the recipes and planned the layout of his restaurant years before he had the mettle to sign a lease and open one.

But after 25 years in the restaurant industry, Desiano left the corporate world and took the plunge into business ownership when he started Naples Flatbread & Wine Bar in Naples in February 2009.

“This is an idea that I was toying with for 10 years,” he said. “I just never had the courage to leave a corporate position.”

Despite starting a business at a time when many were shutting down, he opened a second restaurant in Estero in October 2009 and his overall company sales have continued to rise.
