The latest offering of cocktails and mocktails provoke dreams of exotic locales, inspiring the true sense of the meaning ‘wanderlust’ in each sip
London (RestaurantNews.com) The Pine Bar, located within the prestigious Biltmore Mayfair Hotel on Grosvenor Square in London, has launched their newest cocktail menu WANDERLUST – inspired by international travels. The latest menu offering allows cocktail aficionados to indulge in a sensory journey of spirits and fine artisan flavors from around the world. The colorful WANDERLUST menu consists of sixteen cocktails – four with low or no alcohol – to allow guests to explore a new destination without leaving their seats.
The menu travels around the globe, with each cocktail inspired by a different location. “HIDDEN TREASURE” reminiscences the flavors of Turkey while “SYMPHONY OF THE FOREST” is motivated by the native pine forests of Washington State. “EXUBERANCE” flaunts zest for the Caribbean and the “PACIFIC WHEEL” exudes Californian vibes with a nod to the fairground wheel at the Santa Monica Pier.
Get a taste of Sin City with “THE FLAMBOYANT” cocktail inspired by Las Vegas, and crafted with Ocho Reposado tequila, Torres 10 brandy, Belsazar Riesling Edition vermouth, fresh lime and pomegranate, black clove and galangal agave. Or, if looking for a Mediterranean vacation, the “OPULENCE” is a champagne cocktail with a decadent touch of gold inspired by Arabia, with Ketal One vodka, Italicus Rosolio d Bergamotto, Mancino Secco Vermouth, turmeric-infused Galliano l’Autentico, fresh lemon, homemade eucalyptus nectar and released cumin olive oil.
But whatever beverage you choose, your palate is sure to be transported on an extraordinary adventure. Carefully curated by The Pine Bar Manager Nerijus Zakarevicius, Assistant Bar Manager Giorgio Trimboli and Head Bartender Alessandro Vescovi, each drink is personally inspired by their travels around the world, and fuses local elements with exotic tastes. This was accomplished by collaborating with luxury spirit houses globally, from Rémy Martin XO, Zacapa XO and Mancino Vermouth, to The House of Suntory, Tequila OCHO, Matusalem Rum, Johnnie Walker, Discaronno, Tanqueray No Ten, Seedlip, Aecorn Aperitifs, Ketal One Vodka, The London Essence Co, Campari, Ron Zacapa, Michter’s American Whiskey and Amaro Montenegro.
The WANDERLUST menu pushes mixology boundaries, and many hours of research, testing and tasting went into crafting each cocktail. Zakarevicius elaborates, “We designed a collection of cocktails and mocktails that not only surprise and delight, but also takes you on a journey – where every sip is a sensory adventure.” He continues, “We wanted to offer guests worldly flavors they may not often encounter on menus, but also include familiar spirits they already know and love.”
Whether guests are looking for a pre-dinner aperitif, nightcap or to experience cocktail culture at its finest, The Pine Bar offers the opportunity to unwind in its glamorous, yet cozy, interiors with art deco finesse and pink hues. Famed illustrator Dan Collins, who is especially known for his bar art, was brought in to design a unique menu with twelve bespoke illustrations. For example, “THE LONDONER” cocktail is depicted by an illustration of London’s landmarks, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square Lion sculptures and the Tower of London skyline.
