Harper’s Restaurants are celebrating “all things tomato” this summer with a bounty of special dishes. With the restaurant group’s 12th ANNUAL TOMATO FEST now in full-swing, only the best, most flavorful, locally grown tomatoes are being used to prepare these fresh and delicious dishes, some of which return each year due to customer demand.
“The Crab and Avocado Stack is one of our guests’’ all-time favorites,” says Steve Seitz, director of operations for the Charlotte-based Harper’s Restaurant Group. “It is a delicious tower of tomatoes, fresh crab, avocado, basil, topped with white balsamic vinaigrette. And, although we sell it as an appetizer or salad, it really could be a meal in itself.”
Seitz said produce from the Carolinas is outstanding this year. The Charlotte Harper’s locations are using tomatoes from Beaverland Farms, in Heath Springs, SC, for their dishes. “Our management staff has a long-standing commitment to using as much local product as possible in all our restaurants. The Tomato Fest is a great opportunity to showcase the delicious produce that comes from our area.”
Harper’s Restaurants are located in Charlotte, in Southpark, directly across from Southpark Mall and in Pineville, at Carolina Place Mall; in Greensboro, at Friendly Center; and, in Columbia, SC at Five Points. Each location will be offering Tomato Fest specials throughout the peak tomato season which usually goes into early August.
